The 13th Annual OPIS LCFS & Carbon Markets Workshop returns to San Diego, California, again this year for this industry-leading gathering!

January 14 - 16, 2025 | Hard Rock Hotel | San Diego, California

Navigating Carbon Frontiers: Insights, Innovations, and Impact

Join us for the 13th Annual OPIS LCFS & Carbon Workshop, where thought leaders, industry pioneers, and policymakers converge to explore the ever-evolving landscape of carbon markets, clean fuel standards, and sustainable energy solutions. This year’s workshop promises a dynamic exchange of ideas, actionable strategies, and collaborative pathways.

Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) programs continue to be in the limelight, with major modifications and a whole new program on the way. California’s LCFS has had no shortage of intrigue as the California Air Resources Board (CARB) had its challenges with finalizing a lengthy rulemaking process to extend the targets out to 2045, as well as raising the nearer-term targets to 2030. The market has continued to produce low-carbon fuels at a rate that was far ahead of the compliance schedule, and stakeholders have nervously awaited CARB’s final revisions. Oregon is evaluating the next round of small changes to its Clean Fuels Program, while Washington state enters the second year of its Clean Fuel Standard, as is Canada’s nationwide Clean Fuels Regulation. Meanwhile, New Mexico is set to become the fourth state to implement a program after it passed legislation earlier this year.

Attend the 13th Annual OPIS LCFS & Carbon Markets Workshop and hear from recognized industry experts as they provide insights on key topics including:

  • Carbon Markets Unleashed: Emerging Trends: Dive into the latest trends shaping global carbon markets. From compliance programs to nature-based solutions, discover what’s driving change.
  • Quality Matters: Explore credit quality, transparency, and the role of third-party verification. What factors contribute to offset pricing?
  • Policy Dynamics: State-Level Ambitions: Uncover the policy nuances of state-level programs. What’s on the horizon for California, New York, and Washington? Who’s next?

And learn the answers to key questions such as:
  • When will CARB finalize the new LCFS targets to 2045, and how will the market receive those changes?
  • How have the weaker credit pricing economics affected renewable diesel and the importance of that fuel for LCFS compliance?
  • How has the rollout of Canada’s nationwide Clean Fuel Standard and Washington’s Clean Fuel Standard been received, and how will they serve as models for the next jurisdictions to launch programs?
  • What low-carbon fuels will see the biggest moves forward in 2025, and how will the LCFS programs affect demand for fuels like sustainable aviation fuel, renewable natural gas, hydrogen and the electric vehicle landscape?
